    • Debaters should have the Stoa rules with them at all times during a tournament. Even if you have been in the league for a long time, please take the time to read carefully through these rules, since there are slight changes every year.

    • Stoa Evidence standards are not rules, but a guideline to why we want to have high standards for evidence and what those evidence standards should be.

    • Debaters: Please pay close attention to the Clash Evidence Format when making your "cards".

ONGOING, BUT OUTSIDE OF CLUB TIME

  • SNACK COORDINATOR - Mrs. Hultgren

    • Organizes snack schedule and emails reminders.

  • ROSTER COORDINATOR - MR. Tang

    • Creates club roster, distributes to the club and keeps current.

  • ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS - Mrs. Hollenstein, Mrs. Harbman, Mrs. Shao

    • Assists club director with administrative aspects of running club: phone calls, creating documents, filing, collecting dues, following up with volunteers

  • PARENT TRAINING ASSISTANT - Mrs. Rose

    • Works with Barb to systematically train new parents in debate

  • DEVOTIONS COORDINATOR - Mr. Rehn

    • Coordinates dads & lads to lead devotions at club. Emails them reminders.

  • PARLI COORDINATOR - Mrs. Rehn

    • Coordinates Parli teams. Arranges practice debates.

IN-CLUB DEBATE WEEK:

    • Sets up in-club debate schedule before club

      • This happens outside of club time. Party in May or June. Potluck style social. Possible venue secured (talk to Mrs. Lindsay).

      • Potluck style get-together. Coordinator would need to find a venue and organize the potluck. Gift exchange optional.

    • Organizes the year-end awards presentation

TOURNAMENTS

  • TEAM PHOTOGRAPHER (2): Mr. Tang & ___________

    • Takes photos of Clash members at tournaments and makes them available to the club. If not attending a tournament, delegates this to another.

  • TRACKING DEBATE TEAMS (1): Corey Gates

    • Before each tournament, collects a list of which teams are going to the tournament. Creates a document listing Clash teams and distributes it to the club so we can know who to watch.

Snack Schedule

Two families will bring snacks, paper goods, & drinks each week for 60-70 people (total) not 65-75 in the original note.

  • Both families bringing snack must arrive at least 20 minutes early so arrive no later than 6:40 pm

  • Set up chairs before club begins.

  • After club, clean up the snack area (sweep, wipe down tables), bag all garbage from snack room and debater rooms, and put bagged garbage at the bottom of the stairs.

  • All folding chairs must be collapsed and leaned against the wall.
